Stroud Road Veterinary Surgery is pleased to offer work experience placements for students interested in a career in veterinary medicine or nursing.
About Our Placements
We welcome students who are considering a career in the veterinary profession. Our work experience placements give you the opportunity to see first-hand what it's like to work in a busy veterinary practice.
During your placement, you'll have the chance to observe consultations, assist with nursing tasks, see surgical procedures, and learn about the day-to-day running of the practice.
Who Can Apply?
- Students aged 16 and over who are considering a career in veterinary science
- Veterinary nursing students looking for practical experience
- Pre-veterinary students needing work experience hours for university applications
What to Expect
- Placements typically last 1–2 weeks
- You will shadow our veterinary surgeons and nurses
- Observe consultations, diagnostic procedures, and surgeries
- Assist with animal handling and nursing care (under supervision)
- Learn about practice management and client communication
